Description

A relatively easy object for scanning, this wrench appears to be ready to jump off the screen and into your hands. The only challenges during scanning were its shiny surface (easily countered by using anti-gloss spray) and the thin edges. To register the thin edge, a background was used to prevent any possible registration issues due to lack of surface in the scanner’s field of view.

By zooming in closer, you can see the excellent quality of this 3D model, which would be more than sufficient for either reverse engineering or quality inspection. Such a model can be imported into a CAD/CAM system for modification and further development.
