Description

A taxidermy porcupine fish, scanned with Space Spider. A somewhat challenging object due to its semi-translucent skin and difficult geometry. Spraying the fish with talc wasn’t an option, so the only thing which helped make scanning easier was the dust on the surface of the fish. Thankfully, the well-planned scanning trajectory and the Artec Studio algorithms were enough to 3D scan this deadly fish. Interestingly, though it’s almost impossible to see on the object, the 3D scan shows that there are still drops of dried varnish on some of the spines.
