Description

An infant skull, scanned with Artec Spider in three passes. Due to the ability of the scanner to render sharp edges, it was rather easy and fast to capture the geometry of the various holes and fractures.

Viewing from above, it’s evident that the anterior fontanelle is substantially visible enough, with the parietal and frontal bones still unfused. The massive trauma to the occiput region can be examined in detail. While the coronal sutures on the model feature such high definition as to allow further and closer study. Similar scans are very popular in both forensics and forensic anthropology.
