Rutland / New York Central Railroad Crossing Flanger Marker

£12.52

Flanger markers were used on ALL railroads that operate where there is snow accumulation. They indicate the approach of any obstruction beside or within the track that will require retracting snowplow wings or flanger blades. They would be located in advance of every switch, bride, crossing of any kind, and also rock cuts or other places were there is something too close for plow wings to clear when extended. This model represents that which indicates both raising the flanger blade and also retracting the wings. One with only the top two blades means only wings retract, one with just the lower blade to the right indicates only flanger blade needs to be raised.
This style is use by many railroads like NYC and Rutland but also many others. Styles varied with many others.
