Description

Scanning ears is a key step of the process when making ear prostheses: the detailed geometry of a healthy ear can quickly be mirrored and made into a perfect replica for replacing a damaged ear.

Space Spider captures voluminous levels of detail in a few breaths’ time, which, in the case of a human ear, is crucial for creating a prosthetic ear with an unquestionable level of anatomical accuracy. The natural colors, shapes, and contours of the ear, from the sweep of the pinna down to the ear lobe, then funneling down into the external auditory canal, are all flawlessly present in this remarkable 3D model.
